This one-day workshop will focus on strategies for adding various forms, i.e. people, animals (horse, birds, favorite pet, imaginary imagery), etc. into your landscape paintings. Students may focus on any desired subject, including painting a landscape, cloudscape, while also considering how adding forms may enliven the composition. Students will learn the art of using painting tools to create exciting marks, colors and textures that will easily translate to any painting subject.
This in-depth session will include: setup, discussion about tools and materials, palette knife and brush painting techniques, using color for expression, underpainting to complete painting and Stedham Method of non-toxic painting and clean up. The instructor will offer demos, discussions and guided instruction as well as independent painting time.
