Cross Structure Technique Bookbinding Workshop | Friday August 4th, 2023 | $125.00 + tax | 11:00am-3:00pm |
This workshop will teach students to create the Cross Structure Binding invented by Carmencho Arregui.
It is a soft cover binding based on a traditional Long Stitch Binding technique. The covers consist of long tabs that weave together to support the spine and text block. Because this is a soft cover binding, various materials can be used for the cover without adhesives.
Each student will go home with a 4-7/8″ H x 6-3/8″ W x 1″ (8 signatures) Cross Structure binding book that they created.
Students will learn how to stitch their own book using this method as well as learn about paper grain, how to tear full sheets of paper, signature size and text blocks.
All materials and equipment for creating these charming books will be provided.
