Bold and Beautiful! Painting the Expressive Painting in Oil | All Day 6-Hour Workshop in Traditional or Water Soluble Oil | Saturday February 1st, 2025 | 10:00am-4:00pm | One hour break included | for $160.00 + Tax |
This one-day workshop will focus on techniques for adding some real Zing to your paintings! If action and bold expression is what you desire, then this is your workshop! This will be a bold brush and palette knife Extravaganza! Students will learn the art of using painting tools to create exciting marks, colors and textures that will easily translate to any painting subject.
This in-depth session will include: setup, discussion about tools and materials, palette knife and brush painting techniques, using color for expression, underpainting to completed painting and Stedham Method of non-toxic painting and clean up. Instructor will offer demos, discussions and guided instruction as well as independent painting time.
Traditional or Water soluble oil paints, all levels from Beginner to advanced welcome.
Level: All Levels, first timers to experienced artists are welcome! Take your paintings to a new level and join us for this dynamic workshop!

Artist Bio: Kathryn Stedham has been a professional artist for over 35 years and her paintings are featured in public and private collections throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, and Canada. Stedham first received her training as an academic realist, with her interest evolving into the gestural Alla Prima painting style for which she is known today. Her approach combines representational forms with an expressionist modernist sensibility. Stedham is a Holbein Artist Materials sponsored artist since 2018 and is represented by Blue Rain Gallery in Santa Fe.
