MUSSINI – The worldwide unique finest artists’ resin-oil colour

With the founding product of Schmincke dating back to 1881 oil painters have access to a unique resin-oil colour based on the recipes of the old masters. The recipes for MUSSINI colours are the result of the rich knowledge of professor Cesare Mussini, who once worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. The series comprises 108 brilliant colours, including 60 one-pigment and 44 glaze colours. The combination of high-quality pigments with natural oils such as linseed, safflower and walnut oil as well as dissolved dammar natural resin produces colours with balanced drying and a pleasant resinous fragrance. MUSSINI colours can be mixed with other oil colours and offer artists worldwide the highest quality.

Pastels – Finest, extra soft artists’ pastels, handmade

Schmincke pastels are extra-fine, handmade artists’ pastels with a velvety-soft texture and intensive colour. The 400 brilliant colour shades offer limitless creative possibilities – on pastel paper, in mixed media techniques or on primed canvas. The minimal binder content and highly concentrated pigments create an exceptionally soft and vibrant colour effect. Fixative sprays ensure long-term durability.

HORADAM Aquarell – The Schmincke premium watercolour range

The standard range includes 139 brilliant, intense colours, on top there are 50 supergranulating colours – all in various containers e.g. pans and tubes. 162 of the 189 colours with the highest possible lightfastness (4 + 5 stars). The pans are 4-times liquid-poured for maximum yield (same formulation for pans and tube colours). They all have excellent painting properties: an always controllable paint flow – even on soft watercolour papers and easily re-wettable and re-usable after drying. Selected Gum Arabic serves as a binder and natural oxgall as a traditional dispersant. 

The Standard Range

139 HORADAM watercolours offer an exceptionally broad colour spectrum and meet the highest quality standards of a premium watercolour. In addition to well-established traditional colours the range also includes innovative shades using unique pigments like Perylene, Quinacridone and transparent iron oxides. 

50 supergranulating watercolors 

Supergranulating colours are characterised by a special feature: the combination of at least two granulating HORADAM pigments intensifies this effect into “supergranulation”. These colours are made up of pigments from different colour families, allowing not only granulation effects but also colour shifts.
The natural texture formation varies depending on the substrate and the amount of water being used. Available in 10 theme sets: Deep Sea, Glacier, Galaxy, Forest, Tundra, Volcano, Shire, Desert, Haze and Urban.
